Time to Talk

This year’s Time to Talk theme is The Power of Small – something we know plenty about.

Time to Talk Day was launched in 2014 and is organised by Time to Change, the campaign to change how we all think and act about mental health, led by charities Mind and Rethink Mental Illness. Time to Talk day aims to get as many people as possible talking about mental health. We know that a small conversation about mental health has the power to make a big difference.

Reading Friends - 10am

Reading Friends - 10am

Hosted by Cassie & Reece

Reading friends is a fantastic reminiscence activity, where a piece of literature is read aloud, alongside the use of other materials to stimulate conversation and memories about the subject chosen. By taking part in this activity, a short poem that lasts for a matter of seconds can help aid previous memories of childhood, happiness and laughter and bring groups of people closer together.

Google Reminiscence is a really powerful way of supporting someone with dementia to talk about where they lived and grew up or to reminisce about holidays. Spend the next half an hour learning how you can do this at home with your loved and travel around the world recalling different memories and watch some clips of the Sage House staff as they talk about their own memories from eating French food to be a child in Hong Kong.
