Our organisation is committed to working towards a society where dementia is wholly understood and accepted. We want to ensure that all local people living with or affected by dementia are fully supported throughout their journey.
Dementia Support is a new Charity based in Tangmere near Chichester and we are creating the first ever ‘one stop shop’ for those living directly or indirectly with dementia. As we now gather momentum and prepare for our launch, we are looking to expand our team with an Apprentice Support Worker.
An apprenticeship is a flexible role where the work is wide-ranging and delivered to set timescales. You will undertake and complete various aspects of the Intermediate Apprenticeship scheme e.g. attending college regularly; working with an assessor to develop a work-based portfolio within specified timeframes.
This will be a hands-on role, working as part of a team to deliver high quality, friendly services for and on behalf of Dementia Support’s day care service based in the Hub.
High quality, passionate services are key to our vision and we expect all our teams to join us in delivering these core organisational values.
The role will include;
- Developing skills and knowledge to provide care and support to people living with dementia who require differing levels of support within the day care unit
- Assisting individuals with person-centred care and support
- Providing appropriate personal care when required
- Working as part of a support team to ensure that the aims and objectives of the service are met
- Working with the team to provide practical, emotional and flexible care and support geared to the needs and goals identified within the Support/Care Plan
