Ian Poysden, Managing Director of IEP Financial, met representatives from the charity, Dementia Support, at a wine tasting function near Chichester. Support for people living with dementia is a cause close to Ian’s heart following the diagnosis of his father-in-law and he was impressed by the charity’s plan to open a unique and first of its kind Dementia Support Hub in Tangmere, which will offer complete dementia services under one roof for people in the West Sussex area. Ian and IEP Financial consequently made a donation of £10,000.
This donation goes towards the renovation of the Dementia Support building and will help develop the charity’s dementia services. The Dementia Support Hub will officially open in Spring 2018 and will provide memory assessment, information and advice, community cafe, social activities, day care, befriending, wellbeing services and young onset dementia services.
The charity is working in partnership with the NHS, charitable and voluntary organisations, West Sussex County Council and other statutory organisations to create this bespoke, modern and functional community Hub.
IEP Financial, based in Hove and Eastbourne, focuses on providing independent financial advice on pensions, investments, mortgages and protection. The company has an established relationship with a number of charities across the South Coast and promotes these charitable causes through a network of professional connections across the region. Over the past few years IEP have supported Rockinghorse Children’s Charity, Martlets, Chestnut Tree House and more recently St Wilfrid’s Hospice in Eastbourne.
Due to family members having dementia, Ian has also chosen taken his involvement in the charity a step further and become a member of the Fundraising Advisory Board.
“My wife, Michelle and I have had personal experience of dementia. Over the coming months it is my intention to help Dementia Support with their fundraising appeal by being on the Fundraising Advisory Board committee.
Both my wife and I think the Dementia Support Hub is a fantastic idea and our business, IEP Financial support it too as part of our Corporate Social Responsibility policy. Although we are a small, local company, we believe in supporting the local community, especially in raising awareness.”
